The Aetna Mountain property is located in Marion County, TN overlooking Nickajack Lake and The Tennessee River.



  • The property is located 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, TN home of the new Volkswagen assembly plant set to open in 2011.
  • Aetna Mountain and Chattanooga are centrally located in the Southeast US. Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville, and Birmingham are all less than a 2 hour drive away.

  • Nearby Nickajack Lake offers many forms of recreation including sport fishing, water skiing, sailing and much more. Less than a mile from the property you can store you boat at the Hales Bar Marina and Resort.
  • Within a short 15 minute drive one can enjoy all that Chattanooga has to offer. You can start with a tour of the Tennessee Aquarium or a visit to the Hunter Art Museum then spend the day exploring all the city has to offer.
  • No more than an hour northeast of the Chattanooga area one can find whitewater rafting and canoeing for all skill levels along with some of the most scenic floats in the world. There is also first class trout fishing on many of the whitewater rivers, the Hiawassee River, Ocoee River, and the Tellico are just a few of these wonderful attractions.
  • Only minutes from the property is the Tennessee River Gorge. Known as the Grand Canyon of the Southeast this area is one of the most beautiful settings in Tennessee. You can take your boat from Hales Bar Marina and within minutes be cruising through one of the great natural wonders of our state. If you don’t have a boat you can hitch a ride from the Tennessee Aquarium’s River Gorge Explorer that will give you an adventure you will never forget.
